Our Falling Economy

Are the problems with the Economy effecting you and your Family? It seems like everyday on the News another Business is either laying off or closing. Alabama is already behind in so many things and this is just putting us behind more.

My Husband has been cut back to 40 hours (he usually gets 50 or more) and we're just wondering when they may have to close the Business for a while. He's a Welder and builds the beds (water tanks) for Well Drilling Rigs and mounts them onto the Trucks. The Company hasn't sold a Truck since the first of the year and they can't just keep building and not selling.

My oldest Daughter's Husband won't be employed come March because the Company he works for is closing. All our Kids are grown but I still worry about them and their Kids because of all this mess with the Economy.

We're "Blessed" in the fact that when my Father passed and I received a Settlement that I paid off our home so we don't have that worry. I also bought my new car and paid off the old one so that's another bill that we don't have. I almost had a "Stroke" when I received our Power Bill this month because the rates have gone up and the bill has doubled since last year.

Maybe on the next Full Moon (March 1oth) we should all do a "Blessing" for our Economy and send some "Positive Energy" out into the World!

I agree. so far my guy is doing great with his job, even getting over time, he does welding, sandblasting and powder coating for a company who makes boat trailers. However, my Dad was laid off a few weeks ago from his job and my brother in law who lives near Wichita, Ks has been laid off. They will be getting unemployment though. My son's Dad just got his unemployment extension thank goodness. He has also been looking for work. Sending Positive Energy and Blessings to all in need, Love and Light, Sapphire Wolfe.

The economy here in the mid west is bad also , Dark Rhino`s hours have been cut back some but I guess its better than getting layed off ,I seen alot of places in and around our town are laying people off in huge amounts,but will keep sending prayers and thoughts to all who have been affected

My Hubby is laid off til June or after. He is a Milright at a steel Mill.
Its bad here in Ohio. So far we are okay. takes so long to get the unemployment going. Cut back a lot on some things.

For the last three weeks my Husband has only gotten 32 hours of work and my budget is getting tighter and tighter. I even did him a Resume Online through the Alabama Employment Office but there's just not that many jobs in Alabama. Our County (Chambers) is one of the highest in Unemployment at the time.

Their closing a major Tire Plant in Opelika (about 25 minutes from here and where I grew up) and over 1,000 people will be without a job.

I am beginning my job hunt here in AL today- I hope I can find something. Anything to stay out of driving a truck. I hope it goes well. Would appreciate any prayers and candles lit for me. I don't have a house. Just me and my car,- so hopefully I can find something to do. Blessings, Trinity

Well, it seems that my Husband will start really looking for a new Job in the morning. They haven't sold but one Well Drilling Rig/Tank since the first of the year and have nine just sitting now. They had been doing some odd Welding Jobs to try and keep working but it's gotten to the point that it's not enough to keep going. We can't live off a day or two of work each week.

I signed up for his Unemployment for him Online (he hates computers) and even filled out a Job Application working on a Barge on the Mississippi River (Our Youngest Son just got on with this Company) but he hasn't heard any thing from that yet.

Keep us in your Blessings as he's out looking for work.

I've been out of a job since April of 2008 when they closed the plant I worked at, unemployment ran out & the places I apply at either tell me I am over qualified or not qualified enough. About 2 months ago my husband's hours got cut to 32 hours a week. In our town a number of factories have closed, one company they only get 32 hours every other week & yet another factory they only work about 6 days a month. I decided to take some classes to get a better job but trying to find something to hold us for awhile is almost impossible in this economy. I really hope something changes soon, I don't know how long this country can hold out the way it is.

I hate to sound so "Negative" but I just don't see it getting better that soon. If our Government Officials had to live off Unemployment for a while it might get them in gear but most of them are already well off. In places like we live there aren't many jobs to begin with and with all the closings it's only become worse.
